Mongolia is a land-locked country located in East Asia, bordered by Russia to the north and by China to the South. Mongolia is a vast expanse of unique habitats, from the northerly taiga forests through to the central steppes, and then onto the wilderness of the Gobi Desert in the south and this in turn has created a high diversity of over 500 bird species. Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA’ Mongolia workshops will focus on generating close photographic encounters with three of Mongolia’s most special birds: Black-billed Capercaillie, Altai Snowcock and Macqueen’s Bustard. In addition to photographing birds, Mongolia also offers breathtaking landscapes, such as never-ending grasslands, arid deserts and taiga forests, enhancing the overall experience of being in nature whilst observing birds.
