Kazakhstan dominates Central Asia and at five times larger than France this enormous country stretches 2,000 kilometres west-to-east from the Caspian Sea to China and some 1,200 kilometres north-to-south from the Urals to Kyrgyzstan. Kazakhstan also has varied habitats ranging from steppe and deserts to mountains and wetlands and this in turn has created a high diversity of 500 bird species. Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA’ Kazakhstan workshops will focus on generating close photographic encounters with many of the country’s special birds including Sociable Lapwing, White-winged Lark, Pallid Scops Owl and Black-bellied Sandgrouse. In addition to photographing birds, Kazakhstan also offers breathtaking landscapes, such as steppes, mountains, and wetlands, enhancing the overall experience of being in nature whilst observing birds.
