These trips from west-to-east have ranged from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakstan through India, Bhutan and China onto Mongolia, Japan and the Philippines and from north-to-south have extended from the Kamchatka coastline through Vietnam, Indonesia and Timor-Leste onto the Solomon Islands, New Zealand and the subantarctic islands. Our tours accommodate all bird photography skill levels, from those new to the subject, right the way through to the experienced bird photographer. All Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA trips are led by experienced and knowledgeable professional guides with expert knowledge of the needs of bird photographers. Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA offers the finest in bird photography adventures throughout the Asian continent. Our tour itineraries are designed exclusively by us to ensure that when you depart back to your hometowns you will carry back with you a gallery of fine portraits of the birds and landscapes photographed from your journey. High-quality images of birds cannot be achieved without close encounters with the birds themselves and consequently Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA aims to put you in a position where these close photographic encounters with birds are possible. As such the culture at Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA is to operate tours with small group sizes, generally capped at five persons, thereby enhancing the opportunity for photographers to achieve high-quality portraits. Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA has a portfolio of 50 tours per annum across 26 countries in Asia and Oceania, these tours being a mix of both wild bird photography experiences as well as Bird-Photo-Tours designed around hides, blinds and feeding stations. With respect to the selection of accommodation Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA has two main considerations. Firstly to offer the best accommodation available and secondly to ensure close proximity to the bird photography locations. With many locations being "far off the beaten track" accommodation selection can be limited, exceedingly so in some instances. In such situations we aim to provide the best accommodation that is on offer in that area. When transiting from one location to the next and staying in larger cities, we will offer premium hotels providing more comfort to rest, recuperate and fully enjoy your Bird-Photo-Tour.
Birds are at their most active and the light is at its kindest at both dawn and dusk and therefore our tours are designed to focus on these critical times of the day. We often take midday breaks, when bird activity is at a minimum and the light may be just too harsh for portrait-quality results. This also provides an opportunity to download, edit and review your images from the morning session and as such to consider making any adjustments and to better plan for the afternoon session. The pace of our Bird-Photo-Tours is relaxed, after all, you cannot produce high-quality photographic images when you are being constantly ushered from one site to the next.
With respect to our tour itineraries, these have been designed by Bird-Photo-Tours ASIA with the purpose of maximizing the opportunities for obtaining portrait-quality results. Group sizes on a Bird-Photo-Tour ASIA trip range from 1-person up to 5-persons which is significantly less than other tour operators where group sizes can be as high as 12-persons. Consequently, this small group environment represents a significant departure from other companies where the bird photographer can struggle to find time even to take a few satisfactory images.
