This Trip Report showcases many of the photographic portraits from our 50-day September 2025 Solomon Islands Bird-Photo-Tour expedition covering all 9 Provinces. The Solomon Islands forms a chain of islands stretching out beyond New Guinea into the deeper South Pacific. This island archipelago is close enough to retain a reasonably high bird diversity yet isolated and fragmented enough to enable a high degree of bird endemism. These islands additionally have many undisturbed remote coral atolls which provide safe sanctuary for many seabird species and therefore provides fabulous opportunities for seabird photography enthusiasts. The seabirds and shorebirds of the Solomon Islands alongside their endemics formed the foundation for this bird photography expedition where we prioritised capturing portraits of Lesser and Great Frigatebirds, Brown and Black Noddies, Red-footed and Brown Boobies, Blue-billed White Terns and Bridled Terns, White-tailed Tropicbirds and Sanford's Sea Eagles, Wandering Tattlers and Bristle-thighed Curlews, Ultramarine and Melanesian Kingfishers, as well as enjoying photographing endemic and near-endemic landbirds including White-eyes, Fantails, Myzomelas, Starlings, Fruit Doves, Imperial Pigeons and Megapodes.
